The Rise of AI - Danger or Opportunity

There was a concept presented to me several years ago about what it means to be in crisis. What I learned was that in many cases, a crisis is equal parts danger and opportunity. Sure, there are some not so great things about to happen but if we change our perspective just a little, we might find the opportunities that are now available. Sometimes big changes feel like crises and the human tendency is to deny and delay responding as long as possible. But in so doing, we might be missing the ways to claim the good stuff buried inside the scary stuff. I believe that the rise of Artificial Intelligence might be just this sort of "crisis". 

Everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence and, of course, the Exploracast team is now joining the discussion. But to help us to not only acknowledge some of our fears but to also consider the great opportunities that it will provide, we have invited a guest to the conversation. Dr. Mike McCullough is a tenured professor at the University of Tennessee at Martin and has done a lot of reading and researching on the subject. 

With his help, we were able to deepen our understanding and even begin to claim some hopefulness at how AI might be able to advance our society in the coming years. I encourage you to open your mind, ask your fears to settle for a moment, and listen to this beginning conversation. There's a lot to think about and prepare for. AI is here and it's here to stay.
